try an oil based thinner, it doesn't damage vinyl, however i don't know if it will remove the rubber.
where in the world have you found that 124 convertible???[/quote]

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that.

Regarding the C4 cabriolet, we knew it had existed, it was actually some kind of holy grail behind the iron curtain, as kids we always hoped that it will come to production in the USSR sometime. We knew nothing about it, only three pictures were know, one picture from the Turin Motor Show in 1966, as the car parks among other creations of Touring Superleggera and two pictures showing a cabriolet and a coupé, and the descriptions said that these are two cars. Now we know it was one car the coupé was with the hard top on. A friend of mine who is a car journalist always wanted to find this car, and he found the name of the owner in one Italian article, then he was lucky to have a friend in a nearby location, who contacted the owner and it turned out the car still exists. The we just went there, and the article was borne along with a millions of pics. This car is unique and interesting in many ways, this is probably the oldest 124 in existence, it is the last creation of Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, who took Italian car chassis craftsmanship to its peak, this is the last car of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, which was the Armani of the fine chassis builders of Italy (among names like Pininfarina, Bertone and others). This was their last desperate attempt to save the company from bankruptcy. It failed. But the car has an interesting afterlife, The car was given to the last manager of Touring as payments by the liquidator. And they used it as a family car, pulled trailers with it, and from time to time Mr Rizzi, the owner lent it to his friend Padre Aristide Pirovano, a missionary bishop, who had an affection to motorbikes and open cars (and nowadays he is regarded as a saint both in Brazil). One day the bishops own car, a Bianchi has broken down and he had to go urgently to Rome with his guest, so he asked the car again, and they came to pick it up, and had a coffee. The guest introduced himself as Karol Wojtyła, and he travelled to Rome with the car, and along the way they stopped at an Autogrill (Italian motorway restaurant) where the Polish bishop's leather briefcase was stolen by cutting through the canvas roof and rear plastic windshield. And Mr. Rizzi told a lot of other stories about the car and the downfall of Touring. It was a very interesting two days and I must say a very lifting experience. The article was published in Hungarian but we are looking for publishing it in other languages as well.

p.m. me your e-mail so i can send you some pics and "desired" prices. naturally, it's all negotiable.

wether you bring a trailer or just a station wagon depends on wether you want body panels or just smaller stuff.
when i was buying those parts i used 5ton truck...

since i've been to Budapest and seen most of tourist atractions, it's definately your turn to see Beograd Wink

No color code, it did not exist. In the early years it was silver, later it was grey, often almost white, in the '80s more beige or greenish grey.

The exact color was changing every day, dependent on the amount of thinner was spilled that morning to the pain and dependent on the amount of vodka was spilled into Grigory that morning Smile

I think i like Grigory Very Happy

I'll compare color charts with my wheels, it will be close enough that way. I hate to paint them, but they have a little bit of rust. Still a shame, because the wheels will be the only parts parts that are not totally original, besides some maintenance parts

We always take color sample from inside the rim under the tyre or from the spare rim, if it was not used extensively.
