Hi guys,
I am trying to order parts to rebuild my 1.7TBi 21214-10 engine.
There is some confusion with the parts supplier as to the correct Tensioner shoe. I don't want to open my engine until I get all the parts so I was hopeing some of you could tell me which shoe I need.

They sent me a photo of the two shoes listed:

And the diagram in my parts catalog depicts two shoes, #19 & #20:

Is there really two separate shoes beside each other or does it depend on the exact model?

#19 Has (01) after it. If you look at the vehicle designations on the drawing you'll see (01) refers to a 21217 vehicle - the very last of the 1600s.

Yours is a 21214 so it's #20 - 21213-1006090

If anyone you're buying parts off can't work that out from the drawings I'd be extremely dubious about buying parts off them!

Thanks for the reply!

Is lada.co.uk not a reputable source?

LOL ... they're very good and very reliable. I'll have a word with Tom. He damn well should be able to read the drawings!

For the record,
I just finished my purchase with lada.co.uk and I have to say I am elated with their customer service. I had a mess of parts to order and they worked with me to sort it all out. They even threw in an extra fuel filter and rad cap for free!

I am definitely ordering from them again.

Now all they need is a better website with a more structured parts listing

I think it was the previous guy, but in any event it was a turn off. Maybe I'll give them another try.
