Ladas, 2103s in particular. I have some prospects and wanted to know what the consensus was on the years, such as early/mid 70s vs late 70s and the engines like 1.2,1.3, and 1.5. is there much difference in reliability or power? What are pros and cons, etc. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. _________________ -Matt

Not even a little tip or something about compression or brakes. Keep this forum alive. _________________ -Matt

well I can tell you what I know about the 2103:
-AFAIK,1500 engine only-at least through 1983.
-1500 engine originated with 2103
-magnetic fan clutch on very early models,~pre '74
-nice set of instruments,Russian made versions of veglia found on ~early 70s fiat 124,light up with a slight bluish tinge at night.
-possible a few might have been imported into Canada very early in the lada Canada days~1978,before official importation.
-2106 sold in Canada up through 1984,'84s upgraded with 1600 engine.
-chain driven cam on 1500 engine, stout double roller, though chain guides are known to wear.
-my 1987 2107 had solid discs up front and aluminum(with iron liner)drums in back-presume 2103 is the same. |
