Does anyone know what's the extra light that is installed on the Canadian spec 2106? I'm talking about the light to the left of the clock on this photo.
I heard it's for the catalytic converter, but I'm starting to doubt that theory.

if i look really close, can almost read"fasten seat belt" on that light, with
many foreign cars sold in north america that light was an add-on;
my '71 saab doesnt have it,but a '73 saab i stripped for spare parts did
have the light as an add-on to satisfy u.s. safety rules...
BTW,1974 model american cars,including my 1974 chevy nova,had a
seat belt interlock system wired into the seatbelt buckles and a driver's
seat pressure pad that would not allow the car to be cranked untill you
buckled the seat belts after sitting in the drivers seat LOL There was an
"emergency"button under the hood that could be pushed to crank the
car if there was a malfunction with the system..This feature was
disliked by car buyers and dropped for the '75 model year...

That's what I'm assuming too, but I see a couple of problems with it.
First, according to the CMVSS 101, fasten seat belt warning should be a sign.
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/acts-regulations/regulations-crc-c1038-sch-iv-101.htm
However this regulation could've been adopted some time later.

My biggest issue with the "Fasten seat belt" theory is that the sign would have to be in French as well.

Lada installed "Fasten seat belt" light on some export models 2106. Part number is 21061-3803310-10.

It is possible to find Fasten seat belt light in french, but in soe Nivas for Switzerland market.

Thanks for the tip. I assumed the light was installed in Canada by the dealer.
In the parts catalog it says that it's a "display", nothing specific. It was only installed on the Canadian cars(there is a 37 code beside the part number).

Interestingly enough, Niva had the same light, but the part number is "21061-3803310" and instead of the text it actually has the fasten seat belt sign.

It's light "fasten seat belt ", was on version 2106 and 2121 from Canada and some countries of Europe, was of three types: labeled, with the icon and the icon on top of the label. When the ignition lit the lamp and sounded the alarm, lock the driver seat belt was the switch.
Who knows what meant the blue scoreboard "hazard" in the Field, as in the photo?

It has to do with brakes. Something like low brake fluid or the brakes are gone)

How accurate is your information? The fact that the indicator of low brake fluid level the light on the instrument panel "brake".

About "hazard" sign. I wrote all wrong)) in fact, it has to do with side flashers, which you turn on when you move too slow, or the car breaks down. Basically, an alert to other drivers.

Do you believe that the blue light display only flashes when the alarm button is on the right ? Not very logical, because the button on the right also has a lamp that flashes . I guess that blue display lights when enabled devices Lighting to find in the dark right button to the right . I'm looking for the owner of the Canadian Niva that he said exactly how it works in his car .

In the case of the fasten seatbelt light there was a wire connected to a switch in the seat belt receptacle. When the belt was clipped in it would break the circuit and turn off the light. I believe it was also connected to a warning buzzer in some cases. That's if I remember correctly. The old style belts had no clip. You just placed the webbing down and a bar just clipped down over the belt itself.

With the seatbelt alarm had long been known. The question is not clear on the blue light display .

I presume its to assist in locating the 4 way flasher button at night. In your first picture in the thread it is the small light. on my dad's 1500s he had almost 30 years ago it just lit up any time you had the lights turned on.
