One more car:) I knew it is going to be like that, once I'm in Russia. This is our friends' Volga, it’s been in one family for all its life, and now they just realize they need a car for everyday use, and this one is too good and too rare (even for Russia) to drive it to the ground. So, whoever is interested in US-importable Volga - there you go!

Judging by photos this car has been driven to the ground. Looks like it was a taxi or some other government abused car.

BTW what do you mean when you say "US-importable"? Did it have mods with air bags, headlights and other US required changes? Or you just say that it was made in 1986 and good to go?

Smile The guy works as a truck dispatch, this is not a cab:) Cabs now have to have yellow license plates and company name on board - a new law, you can read about it online. Btw, I'm 99,9% sure that you thought the car is already dead because of the sticker across the rear window. I just knew it had to come off, but... whatever. The body is fantastic, I've seen it, I know.
And about "US-importable" - yes, year 1987 and down is good to go.

I would translate it as "at least I'm not walking"

We can close this topic now. I tested this car yesterday and consider buying it myself and bringing it over to N.America. We'll see.

The front looks a little rusty. That is why I'm asking.

Here in Vladimir, where the car lived all its life, we only use sand since ancient times. For a 27-yr old car that's been driven all year round for all these 27 years it is in great shape, thats why I put my eyes on it. In Moscow a brand new Russian car goes to ashes in 2 winters (if not treated with some anti-rust stuff). Okay, Moderator please close this topic. Thank you!Smile
