just thinking chris (owwwww, now i have a headache) you have the blue efi manual,it tells you in their,it's 80 or 85amp,seen it with my own eyes.... Wink

carb is 55amp

might explain why some efi's have funny electrical problems

obviously it's just something someone's dumped on the car if they're not genuine russian ones......

have a good trip mate.

Trips going good so far... 2400km in 48 hours.

All the Canadian TBI Niva's were fitted with Delco Alty's. (I think it was even mentioned somewhere in the sales literature) The Last model to have the Russian ones with the "NOT waterproof Embarassed " internal voltage regulator were the Carb'd 95's. Are your FI Alty's there Delco? or Russian?

Delco = General Motors which i think = Holden down there.

Valeo Clutch Kit- Part #3495

Is it the place on Bruce St. at the bottom of the hill by chance?? That's were I went for mine, highly recommended by many people, so I figure it's gotta be the same guy....

Have a good trip... Wink

You guessed it.. That Asian guy and his son do excellent work! He even told me to bring down the Niva if i want sometime and he'll hook it up to the machine. Just to see if how i have the Alty set up will give me the best performance. It's even rumored that their most of their re-builds are a lot better than the mostly Re-man'd stuff you'd get at the big chain stores for more money.

PS thx for the clutch kit #

up date on fan/alternator belt. While i was purchasing my brake items for my '92 GTI, i use only parts from Germany, I asked the fellow for a belt for the Lada heres what he came up with:
The belt is from Germany made by Contitech ( not sure if its an afiliate of Continental)
Belt: Conti-sf AVX10x938
It seems to be a little smaller than the belts from napa (xl 7360) and the Rofan 1a0950 as i mentioned earlier this week. No time today to install but will inform you when i do...ciao

The price of the belt is only $ 6.33 tax in

Small Update:

The DynaPak (Fenco) Clutch kit-- NU31010. The Friction disk is letter-perfect. The releaser bearing is perfect, and comes with the correct retaining clips, However the pressure plate is slightly shorter than the original Niva. That being said, if you adjust up the clutch slave cylendar rod, it works just lovely. Ducky even.

Just thought I would throw it out there and stuffilations.

we certainly wouldn't get away with it today (on the MAIN highway anyhoo Wink ),they have several cameras set up accross the road in various spots,& a computer averages your speed........ Rolling Eyes

get a little letter in the post if you average over your 100km/h,or if it says you haven't stopped for 1/2hr restypoos after your 5 hours,or whatever it is these days)
